Periods - The way Indians suffer

As a firm believer of logic, I often question the traditional
formalities we are imposed upon.
And often wonder if it is there for a reason(no, the nakshatra and purity logics doesn't qualify as reasons for me).
 And to be really honest, I think most of the traditions did have a
logical reason behind it, it's just that it was very tough for the "wise
ones" from that time to explain it to common people, so they made up
stories.
And stories over time evolve, gets added upon by generations of
stupidity and soon deviates from the work that formality was meant to
do.
Coming back to the topic, women are restricted from doing a lot of
things during their periods, maybe beacause they should take proper
rest and don't exert themselves into daily work.
It's not just about the physical fatigue, but psychological, hormonical,
mental and emotional fatigue as well, these together combined often
makes people unwilling to work(no matter how experienced you are, it is
tough (how do I know? I have heard about the sufferings, may be I am
exaggerating it, but it is based upon how it was told to me and seems
true as well) , and since back at the times, women had no say in the
household, so the "men" were given stories of impurity to let them rest,
otherwise it could have been difficult for em(the wise ones) to make
the men(from that time) empathise with women.
And over period of time, this envoloped "caring for women" formality
deviated and seems more about disgust.
(I haven't read this anywhere, and this is what I think might have had
happened, so it might be incorrect as well, but the base reason seems to
be apt, letting the women rest during their periods)
Coming to the question, well, I would make my mom read this and then
revert back the disgust into envolope of "caring" and I am pretty sure
any sane(by sane I mean, someone who is not that orthodox) human can
understand this.
*The resting is important, but the disgust "they" show, isn't.*
