Nirjara
Nirjara is the removal of karma that has already been bound to the soul.
Two broad forms:
Akama / Savipaka Nirjara
Karma naturally matures and falls away after producing its result.
Sakama/Avipaka Nirjara
Karma is shed prematurely through spiritual practices such as:
- Tap (तप)
- Meditation
- Self-restraint
- Detachment
- Reduction of Kashaya
