Justice - The little guy's perception

The hall clock struck three bells, the lil guy who just got
to know how to count, joyfully concluded it was 3pm....

He snuck out of his father's arms and went off quietly to
play with his new jumping ball in the drawing room...

He was really fond of jumping balls, after all they were
super tough to get, only a dozen came every year with Grandma returning from
Kolkata, "just a dozen", which were slowly released only at times
like getting a high score or finishing two glasses of milk or eating khichdi
(which he hated) when his mom was sick.

Super excited with the recently awarded brand-new jumping
ball (anyone could verify its newness with the sweet smell of a new jumping
ball, the sweet smell which was the stamp of its virginity), he was about to
sneak out of the bedroom and enter the drawing room for testing this new toy in
town, too afraid to play outside coz of the fear of losing it in the garden and
knowing the fact that you never know when is the next good time to be awarded.

On his way out, he saw a suspicious figure near the dining
table.

He couldn't tell who it was, coz at 3pm everyone's supposed
to be asleep, that was the rule!

Knowing another defaulter in existence gave him a pinch of
curiosity.

He slowly walked towards the dining table, to see who it
really was....

Before he could see the face, he saw the person holding a
box of sweets,  that grandma prepared yesterday.

He was psyched to taste them yesterday itself, but fell
asleep, and forgot about it in the morning while hurrying for his school.

He put together all his courage to confront the fellow
defaulter, he continued to mooch over to get a clearer view.

It was the last step to be taken, at last he saw her, she
was his only rival in the world, "the wicked sister", the only person
in the world defeating whom felt like winning the world.

He knew what to do, all he had to do was to snitch over her.

But he was smart, he knew if he tells everyone that she was
eating sweet at 3pm, they would know that he was awake as well....

A lil punishment to himself was acceptable to him just to
see a bigger punishment given to her.

But he was no snitch, he was an OG, he had to nag it to her
face, show her what will follow, and show her a glimpse of what happens to his
rivals...

He stood in front of her like a lil policeman, chest puffed
with pride, pride of giving justice to all the defaulters in the world and told
her what was about to happen.

She being his elder sister, was obviously smarter than
him...

She offered him the box to keep mum, and like every
policeman this lil guy melted seeing the much awaited treat as bribe...

Looking at her taking an extra bite and seeing her
expressions of attaining heaven increased his want for the angelic sweet, he readily
forgot his rivalry for the time being, agreed to partner up for the greater
good of both...

The deal was confirmed with the receiving of the bribe, but
there was a condition.

Since his sister safely and quietly opened and. Retrieved
the consignment, it was the lil guy's turn to put it back.

This was tougher coz he had small hands and he had to
stretch at full to reach the cupboard, plus he had to take care of the extra sweets that he would consume in another 15-20 mins...

But he agreed for the love of it, the greed
overshadowed his judgement of his abilities.

He was as careful as a surgeon,

he analyzed every move and every touch before executing it,
the old cupboard has never received such gentle touch.

But, the moment he opened the half gate, there was an unaccounted
screech, caused by the aged sun mica puffed over time, that creek was loud
enough to wake up the vigilantes, coz they knew they were guarding two
defaulters, within no time he was confronted with a knight who he used to call
dad, but this man wasn't his dad, he was a knight, bound by the queen's order.

The lil guy turned back to check on his partner in crime,
she was gone, gone with no trace of her, he felt betrayed, he knew by the time
he explains everything, she will be long gone....

Tears rolled out of his eyes, coz this betrayal hurt him in
his heart, the knight pinched the lil guy's ear and started reciting the orders
of the queen along with faulty allegations like "Why didn't you eat lunch
properly? So this was your plan right from the beginning huh?"

All this hurt him even more, coz in his mind he was a tiny
defaulter against the mastermind who just betrayed him.

He couldn't say anything, he was hurt all he could do was
accept his defeat, and add coal to his already kindled rivalry...

It was the  fifth or
sixth tear drop when he realized

"Justice is blind".
